A welcome respite from the scorching heat was felt across several parts of Delhi-NCR on Thursday as strong winds and heavy rain swept through the region. The skies turned overcast, and the accompanying gusty winds provided a refreshing break, transforming the weather into a pleasant experience for the residents.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert valid for the next two days. The department predicts rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in certain areas and advises residents to stay updated with the latest weather information.
In a related development, the IMD has also announced the onset of the southwest monsoon in Kerala, marking the official commencement of the four-month-long monsoon season across the country. According to the weather department, the monsoon is expected to gradually progress to other parts of India in the coming days.
Experts suggest that the recent rainfall in Delhi-NCR will lead to a drop in temperatures, offering much-needed relief from the intense heat experienced in recent days.
